Nothing says “Good Morning” like a pipin’ hot biscuit.

IMG_998I love it when the smell of something baking wakes up my family in the morning. There is nothing like the smell of hot biscuits to rouse even the sleepiest teens out of bed. Whether it is topped with a pat of butter and jam, part of a hearty biscuit and gravy meal, or made into cinnamon rolls, this easy recipe is sure to please your family and make Sunday mornings extra special.

BISCUITS

preheat oven to 450 degrees.

~in mixing bowl, combine~

2 cups four
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. mix

~ add in~

1/2 cup butter ( one cube) ~cut in until it resembles course crumbs

~ add ~

2/3 cup milk

Stir until dough forms into a ball. Turn out on floured surface and knead gently for about 30 seconds.

Pat or roll out until 1/2 inch thick; cut with a cup or biscuit cutter. I have my grandmother’s biscuit cutter. I could use a cup, but there is something special just using something she used for years.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet. 10 – 12 minutes.

Enjoy!
