The Sweet Taste of Summer!

I love the tastes of summer! Whether it is hamburgers being grilled, fresh corn salad, or a perfectly ripened watermelon. But one of my favorite all time recipes is the classic Strawberry Shortcake! I am not sure if I love it because the sweet berries burst with flavor, the buttery shortcakes are topped with whipped cream, or because I can't savor a serving without thinking of my grandmothers kitchen. Because so many of my memories are tied around food and the hands that helped to create ... View the Post

One Day of Cooking = Two weeks of meals. 7 Steps To Help Make Dinner Easier.

One of the biggest frustrations I hear from Moms is about managing meals. It is a huge juggle because meals happen..every day! But, trying to get a tasty nutritious meal on the table that hasn't come precooked or frozen is getting harder and harder with today's busy schedules. I know. I was there! We have six kids and it often felt, when they were all younger and at home, that as soon as I cleaned up the kitchen after fixing lunch, I had about 7 minutes until I needed to start prepping for the ... Pumpkin Rolls with Cream Cheese Filling

Ohh my goodness! Fall is here and the thought of sipping on hot apple cider with a dash of fresh nutmeg, watching football, and enjoying the cooler weather makes me want to jump into a pile of freshly raked leaves! But the really awesome thing worth FALLing for is this amazing recipe. I have to admit, I had never tried making a roll before. Sure, I would oh and awe over magazines with pictures of pumpkin rolls, but the thought of actually making one seemed like so much work and something ... View the Post

The picture of FAITHFULNESS

faithful (adj.) 1.) keeping faith; maintaining allegiance to someone or something; constant; loyal Every Monday is late start at the high school where our kids attend, starting at 8:30 instead of 7:30 in the morning. Every Monday, for the last few years, I have seen an elderly gentleman in a red plaid flannel shirt, riding a scooter, while holding onto the leash of a slow walking brown lab. That is the picture of  faithfulness. I wondered if the man coaxed his gray muzzled dog to ... View the Post

Chill with Mmm~Mango Banana Smoothie.

I love the taste of summer! Everything is so flavorful and bursting with color. My husband, John, is the green thumb in our family. He has planted a garden everywhere we have lived. Sometimes it is a plot of deep brown soil. Sometimes it is a raised bed with gopher screen lining the bottom. But, it is always something that produces fruits and/or vegetables. Sure, there are some variables such as the weather being too cold, too hot, too damp, and the list goes on. Planting, ... View the Post

welcome It is hard to talk about me, without talking about us!    The Seither Family.  John and I have been married for over twenty five years. From the day we said “I do”, it has been quite an adventure.  One of the biggest things people notice about our family is the size. Yes, there are six kids, proof that  God has a sense of humor. I tell people that ask if we are done with six. “No” I promptly reply. “We were done at four! But the last two were too cute to send back.” Read More
