I never thought I would be a writer. In fact, if my high school yearbook had a category for "Least likely to publish anything-EVER", I would have won by a landslide. During my high school years, we learned on a manual typewriter and worked our way up to an electric typewriter. After many hours spent trying to catch up on all the tedious drills, I finally made a passing grade. As far as I know, I still am the ONLY Ponderosa Bruin to ever be demoted from electric typewriter back to ... View the Post
Carbon Dating My Thighs
Ok.. so I am not really carbon dating MY thighs. But, I am going to chisel out the glacier in my freezer, where I know I have at least 3 packages of chicken ~ all bought on sale~ to see which, if any, are still edible. Depending on what I find, carbon dating may be a viable option. Putting anything in the freezer has become more like a 3D Tetris challenge. I am ready for "Game over". Everyone Has a Story
I often see a wiry woman pushing a cart full of odds and ends around town, or hefting around a military seabag across her narrow shoulders, weighing almost as much as she does. Leonardo DaVinci This is Scott's favorite quote..probably because it isn't just words ~ it captures his life passion. Flight was something he dreamed of from the time he was a youngester, pretending to control his stoller with a Fisher Price remote control that came with a toy car. Only he wasn't really in a jogging stoller, he ... View the Post
A perfect 10 in 2011
Anyone who lived through the 80's can recall Bo Derek splashing through the foamy surf with her beaded braids. She was a perfect 10, or at least that was the title of the movie. I am pretty average but when people find out we have a large family all of a sudden they say, "Whoa..you look great for having six kids!" The way I figure it you get a point for each kid. It is a math thing. When I was younger I was only an 8 with 1 kid, which equaled 9. Now I can start out at a 4 and when you add ... View the Post
