Baked Apple with a Caramel on Top!

Ingredients
  

you can make as many as you want at a time, but for the sake of uniformity let's make 6.
  • 6 baking apples
  • 6 Tbs quick oats
  • 3 Tbs brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tbs butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of salt
  • OPTIONAL - 6 pieces of caramel

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Wash apples
  3. Peel around the middle of each apple
  4. Core out the middle with a corer or with a small spoon.
  5. Cut a small piece off the end of core and "plug" the end of the apple.
  6. Mix all remaining ingredient until the butter is fully incorporated.
  7. Fill apple.
  8. Top with a small caramel.
  9. Put in baking dish and put enough water to barely cover the bottom of dish.
  10. Cover and bake for 30 minutes or until apple is done.
  11. Serve warm on a caramel drizzled plate or topped with whipped cream.
