Kickstarter!

Pearly Monroe front coverI want to take a moment to thank all of those who, over the years, have been an encouragement in my writing career.

I am in the final phases of editing, and have been working with a team of professionals to make sure this book is polished.

I have a traditionally published book being released in the spring, but decided to self publish this project for a few reasons. One being that traditional publishers want a series and the other that the shelf life is often limited.

SO…I am doing a Kickstarter campaign which means that if I reach my goal, I can send this project to the press, as well as get an e-book conversion, and pay for all the additional expenses that go into creating a quality bookWhen you make a pledge, you are basically pre-paying for a signed copy of the book. Plus, there are other great limited edition packages!

I think this is a book that will inspire and encourage young readers by making history come alive.

How you can help make this project a reality?

#1.   I would appreciate having you visit my Kickstarter page. I have a short video I made about how I came across this tender and moving story and why I wrote it. I also want to have enough traffic to my site that the Kickstarter staff will pick it up as a featured project. Even if you don’t want to buy the book, just going to the site will help.

#2. Buy the book. You might even consider buying a few to share with a local library or classroom.  And if you get one of the limited edition packages, it comes with an apron made by me!

#3. Tell your friends and educators who might have kids in the 10 to 13 year old range and will be learning about California and US history. The main character is a boy, but girls will love the book just as much.

Those 3 things will really help to make this a successful launch to a wonderful project! Let’s do this!!
