Meeting pen-pals in person!

Three years ago Scott and Amy started writing to a brother and sister in Ohio. They have kept in contact through real mail and occasional phone calls. This week  Scott and Amy finally met their pen-pals Andy and Elizabeth Schaefer. We wee going to Ohio and it worked out that their big fair week was when we would be in the Buckeye State. I talked to their mom, Ruth, and we set it up for, not only to have the kids met in person, but to stay at their home for two nights. Our kids were so excited.

We were in time to see them show their sheep. The two Seither Kids and the two Schaefers spent the rest of the day taking in the tractor pull and just spending time together. Sometimes people come and go in our lives, but a real friend is something that you cherish for a lifetime.

  1. As the local postal person it’s great to see the meeting! Wasn’t sure if the pen pals were still going as it’s been a while since I had a “Can you check to see if there is any more mail for me? It’s been FOREVER since I heard from my pen pal, at least a week!!”
